Dangerous Bacteria Levels At Monterey Beach

Monterey County health officials announced today that unsafe levels of bacteria were detected on Monday at Del Monte Beach in Monterey.

The beach has been posted with warning signs and will remain posted until tests determine that the bacteria levels have fallen below safe body contact standards.

Elevated levels of bacteria were found after the beach was tested on Monday.

A Monterey County Environmental Health Department spokeswoman said the beach was tested again today and those results will hopefully be available on Wednesday.
